David Beckham's Inter Miami XI shows his ambition and star power

David Beckham's Inter Miami have had a turbulent week, with the sacking of Phil Neville as their manager and the rumours of signing Lionel Messi as their marquee player. The MLS franchise, which was founded in 2020, has been struggling on the pitch, but has been making headlines off it.

The club claimed it was an honest mistake and accepted the penalty.

Despite these setbacks, Beckham has not given up on his vision of making Inter Miami a global brand and a competitive team. He has reportedly set his sights on Messi, who is out of contract with Barcelona at the end of this season. According to some reports, Inter Miami are 'very optimistic' about their chances of landing the Argentine legend.

Messi is widely regarded as one of the best players of all time, having won six Ballon d'Or awards and scored over 700 goals for club and country. He has spent his entire career at Barcelona, winning 35 trophies and breaking numerous records. However, he has also expressed his desire to play in MLS before he retires.

If Beckham can pull off this sensational coup, it would be a game-changer for Inter Miami and MLS. It would also show the pull of Beckham's star power and charisma, which he has used to attract other players and sponsors to his club.

The Argentine legend is the dream signing for Inter Miami and Beckham. He is out of contract with Barcelona and has been linked with a move to MLS. The American forward joined Inter Miami in January last year as the first overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft. He has made 18 appearances so far and has scored three goals and provided one assist. He is also a US international with one cap.
